SUBJECT 1 · ROAD RULES

What is the proper way to avoid a tire blowout?

A
Reduce tire pressure.
B
Check the tires regularly.
C
Clean foreign objects from tire grooves in time.
D
Replace tires that have cracks or deep damage.
ANSWER · A
Driving with underinflated tires is the root cause of blowouts. With low pressure (below the standard), friction with the ground rises sharply as pressure drops, the tire heats up rapidly, the rubber softens, and strength drops. Driving fast in this state may cause a blowout. Driving slowly can also damage the tire; the latent period is long, the danger is hidden, and it lays the groundwork for blowouts at higher speeds. Therefore, reducing tire pressure is the wrong approach.
