The meaning of this sign is to warn drivers that there is a pedestrian crossing ahead.

ANSWER · B

This is the 'watch for pedestrians' warning sign. It warns drivers to slow down and watch for pedestrians; it does not mean there is a pedestrian crossing ahead (the pedestrian-crossing sign is a blue square). It is placed where pedestrians are common or easily missed.
