Per Article 49 of the "Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China and its implementing regulations", motor vehicles may not make U-turns where there are signs or markings prohibiting U-turns or left turns, or at railway crossings, pedestrian crossings, bridges, sharp bends, steep slopes, tunnels, or other dangerous sections. U-turns are not allowed on sharp bends, let alone across the yellow solid line.
