SUBJECT 4 · BAD WEATHER & ROADS
When driving on the acceleration lane of an expressway, as long as the speed is fast enough, you can merge into the traffic flow immediately.
ANSWER · B
Under Article 78 of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China and its implementing regulations, lane speed limits on expressways must be indicated, with a maximum of 120 kilometers per hour and a minimum of 60 kilometers per hour. Small passenger cars must not exceed 120 kilometers per hour, other motor vehicles must not exceed 100 kilometers per hour, and motorcycles must not exceed 80 kilometers per hour. With two lanes in the same direction, the minimum for the left lane is 100 kilometers per hour; with three or more lanes, the minimum for the leftmost lane is 110 kilometers per hour and for the middle lane 90 kilometers per hour. Speed must match the lane's speed limit, so you cannot merge immediately.
