Under the Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driving License, if a driving license is lost, the driver should apply for a replacement at the vehicle administrative office that issued it or at one outside the place of issuance. The driver must confirm the application information and submit proof of identity. If the requirements are met, the vehicle administrative office shall issue a replacement within one day. Once the replacement is issued, the original license is invalid. While the license is lawfully confiscated, detained, or temporarily suspended, the driver cannot apply for a replacement.
